I wake up to messages daily and a lot are focused on P90X and if the transformations they see on TV and on YouTube are real… Of course they are real! P90X is a program designed to transform your body completely in just 90 days, which the thousands of transformation videos on YouTube and success picture on Team Beachbody prove this! Take me for example – I entered P90X with a basic, out of shape, non-musclar, skinny-fat body. P90X has completely transformed me into a new person (view my transformation) – and the best part is, I achieved my results without spending hundreds of dollars on gym membership or glorified bulky equipment! This program proves that you don’t need that “crap” to see the best results possible!
I have compiled a list of ten ways to make sure you see the extreme transformations other people, like myself, have seen with P90X. I can guarantee that if you follow these steps, you will see a completely new person in the mirror in 90 days! Some of these tasks are simple stuff that a lot of us forget to do, or feel we can take a shortcut around them. That can’t happen! The system is proven to work and is laid out for you step by step by step, there is no “shortcut” or “other way to go”. This is the shortcut and this is the only way to go to see the best results possible. Check them out and follow these ten steps!
1. Pre “X” Yourself!
After receiving your extreme home fitness program, P90X, begin to watch the Introductory DVD that is included with the other 12 workout DVD’s. This is crucial to understand what is expected of you and what things you will need to do during the duration of 90 days. It is really easy to jump right into these workouts but just like anything else. We want to get started so that we can hurry up and get results right? Well, I highly suggest doing your research prior to jumping into this full-force.
I also recommend that you take out your fitness guide and the nutrition plan and get familiar with the programs and the DVD’s. Knowing what you are supposed to eat and where to get started will help you maximize your investment into this program. P90X is quite different than your traditional workout so please don’t start your program without reviewing the information provided to you! As an Independent Beachbody Coach, I want you to succeed! Another important MUST is that you first put yourself through the FIT test to ensure that you are physically ready to handle the moves in this workout. This might be discouraging, but use the fit test as a starting point for yourself!
2. Knowledge Is Power!
Take you measurement before you press play on day one! Take your body measurements as well as you’re before and after pictures before starting the P90X program. Yes, taking progress photos is EXTREMELY important, click here to read more about taking photos during P90X. The introductory DVD that you watch before you get started will tell you how to do this and what measurements you should take. This should serve as not only your measure of success once you have completed the 90 days but it should also serve as great motivation for you to continue to “push play!” Like other P90x’ers, be sure to repeat this at the end of 30, 60, and 90 days to showcase your results. Upload them to the Beachbody community and flaunt your success! Sharing success stories with others is what makes the Beachbody Community so supportive!
3. Research your schedule: Classic, Doubles, or Lean?
Choose a P90X workout plan that fits your goals, needs, and time limitations. P90X has 3 different variations to the program including the Classic, Doubles, and Lean versions. If you are looking to build more muscle mass then the Classic version is for you but if you want to build lean muscle mass (more cardio, lighter on the weights) select the Lean version. The doubles program is for individuals who want extra cardiovascular workouts either for weight loss or an increase in performance. Basically you add in a few extra Cardio X workouts to your program each week building up to 4 extra cardio sessions on top of the already tough workouts built into P90X. Selecting the right workout plan will help you get the results you are looking for.
4. Find A P90X Workout Buddy!
Don’t have to do this alone! When I started P90X, I made sure I signed up with a great Beachbody Coach to help support, motivate and guide me to the best results! Also, having your friends or spouses take part in the P90X journey with you is a huge motivator to keep you on track and to hold you accountable!
5. Use the P90X Supplements!
Make sure your body is receiving the nutrition it needs! In order to maximize your results with P90X, I highly recommend also purchasing the P90X supplements including the P90x workout recovery drink, P90X protein bars, and then P90X Peak Health formula vitamins. Why? Because these supplements were designed to be used with this program and to maximize your results and increase your recovery time! Your body will definitely be thanking you for providing the proper nutrition it needs in order to complete each of these grueling workouts. Taking in enough calories is very important as you will be burning hundreds of them off while working out. Do not skip out on using these supplements as they are designed specifically for P90X to fuel your body and help it recover after hard workouts.
I usually suggest two supplements to my clients, protein and Shakeology.

I have taken my fair share of supplements, including meal replacement and health shakes and none compare even close to Shakeology. The energy boost with this shake will be the deciding factor!
6. Follow the Nutrition Guide Provided!
There are three plans that coincide with each phase of the program to help your body get what it needs to succeed and maximize your results. The nutritional portion of this program is a lot easier than plans found with other workout plans as you have more options. You can choose the approach to eating that works best for your lifestyle-Portions, Meals Plans (recipes provided), and the Quick Approach.
I like the flexibility to choose from a list of foods so I selected the portion program to fit in with my workout schedule. That is the beauty of this program; you have so many options and can modify it to fit your needs, unlike others that I have tried!
You can also have access to other recipes and diet alternatives with the Club Membership when joining the Beachbody Community – makes meal planning a lot less stressful.
7. Learn From Other P90X’ers!
Join Team Beachbody, post your questions, get healthy eating and fitness tips from trainers, and motivation from other success stores! 8. Schedule ‘X” Time!
I highly recommend that you schedule your P90X workouts just like you would with any other appointment on your calendar. If you do that you will be less likely to skip it just like a meeting with your boss, a co-worker, or a friend. If you have it written down, in your computer’s calendar, or scheduled in your BeachBody’s online calendar you will stay motivated each day to “X” it off your calendar. One of the most important things for success is to hold yourself accountable and this is one of the simple ways that you can do that. I use the calendar that is included with P90X.
9. Purchase the Necessary Equipment!
Your Success Depends On It! Beachbody and Tony Horton has developed quality pieces of equipment to help maximize your workouts. My favorites are the Pull-Up Bar, heart rate monitor and the Resistance Bands. You may already have weights but if not you can find them just about anywhere. I recommend getting a few different weights so that you have choices on which ones to use during the different workouts, or look into purchasing adjustable dumbbells. Also invest into a good pair of quality shoes as you will be doing a lot of high impact moves so good shoes will help reduce your risk of injury. I prefer the Nike Shox. What is nice about this program is that you don’t need a lot of fancy equipment to complete the routines. Yes, you will need a few items and a place designated for the P90x workouts but you don’t need to spend a lot to get the results you are looking for. Expensive gym memberships or home gyms are not a requirement to complete the 90 day training program!
10. Become A Beachbody Coach
Help motivate others while you help motivate yourself! Become a Beachbody Coach – After completing my first 90 days of P90X, I knew that this company was something I definitely wanted to be a part of. You can’t deny your results – the passion for these products and programs is through the roof! Becoming a member of the online community and sharing your success will definitely inspire change and provide encouragement among others.
Can I become a coach before I finish my first 90 days? YES, you do not have to wait until you finish your program or fit some weight loss criteria to become a coach. You can build a successful home business while you reach your fitness goals. I found that starting my own business as a Beachbody Coach provided me with even more motivation and drive to reach my own personal goals. After all, who is going to believe me and in the programs if I am not doing it myself and seeing results?
