After Mudder...

The Tough Mudder event is one experience that will forever change my life. The people I met, the experience of racing with them and the teamwork and camaraderie that I saw and experienced will forever be engrained in my head.

I absolutely fell in love with obstacle and mud racing after competing and cannot wait to sign up for more and see what other different ones are out there.

We had such a blast today as, for most of us, it was our first time competing in an obstacle race. I know what you’re thinking, “but Tough Mudder is 12 miles and you did that for your first race?”

Haha, yes. I don’t even know what I was thinking. When my friend Arnel called me a few months ago to see if I wanted to do it with him and a bunch of other people, I didn’t even hesitate and said yes immediately. It was only after a few days of googling and trying to figure out what the hell I just signed up for did it sink in.

OMG I had to start training. How was I going to run 12 miles? How was I going to complete the obstacles?

But what I learned was that the people that go to the Tough Mudder aren’t there for the competition, the fastest race time, or to leave people behind. The people aren’t there to compete against each other. they are there to compete against themselves, push their limits and have a good time. No one cares about how long it takes to finish the race; they care about camaraderie and helping your fellow Mudder.

And while I admittedly didn’t finish all the obstacles (only most of them), I definitely gave them a good try and had the best time with my friends.

After Mudder...

Have you ever completed a Tough Mudder before?
