Happy New Year, everyone! I’ve decided to start this new year with a gorgeous, protein packed peanut butter smoothie! What better way to jump start a new eating habit than with a morning smoothie to start your day?!?
Plus, since I’m re-starting my own workout routine today, it only made sense to start my day with a protein shake.
Am I right?
This smoothie is special because I took my two favorite protein shake flavors, peanut butter and chocolate, and kicked it up with 1/2 apple for added taste and texture. Yes!
As you may know, I’ve been a fan of peanut powders since I first discovered them a few years ago, and just recently Jif finally launched their own brand of peanut powders, aptly named Jif Peanut Powder.
I couldn’t be more excited as it came just at the right time when I was scraping the bottom of the canister with my old peanut powder.
I happened across this when I was looking for my old brand of peanut powder while on a recent trip to Walmart and sadly, Walmart did not carry it. Instead, I saw the Jif brand and after reading the ingredients label and noticing that it only contained roasted peanuts I was sold and bought a bag to try.
When blending it in the smoothie, you still get that great peanut butter flavor but without all the fat and added calories that come from regular peanut butter – since Jif has 85% less fat.
It’s perfect for all your smoothies and I cannot wait to try it in some peanut butter chocolate chip muffins that I have planned.
See, I can’t stay away from that peanut butter chocolate flavor! It’s one of my absolute favorites! You?
Anyway, with everyone making New Year resolutions to live an active, fit lifestyle in 2016, I had to post one of my favorite protein shake recipes to help people stay on the right track with their new lifestyle – Chocolate Peanut Butter Apple Protein Shake!
Go ahead and blend yourself up a new smoothie this morning!
