Taco night just got a little better with green chilies cooked right with the meat and topped with melty cheese and cool avocado.
Something very exciting has happened…
I have finally converted all of my recipes (old and new) to the new (to me) Yummly recipe plugin and I could not be happier! It definitely took a lot of time and energy but was sooooo worth it.
When I started this blog, I didn't use a recipe plugin. Dumb, I know. So when people wanted to click and print a recipe, they either had to write it down (gasp!), copy and paste, or just not print the recipe at all. Well, that obviously wasn't going to work for the long term. When I started posting more recipes I started looking for a cute recipe plugin and stumbled upon the YumPrint recipe card. It was easy to use and worked for a while but it has a lot of coding bloat that I don't need or want on my blog.
So the search continued…
And then I stumbled upon the Yummly recipe plugin! I had been getting some traffic from Yummly and had no idea what it was. So I did some investigating! The Yummly site is quite similar to Pinterest but is only food and recipes. The reason I have fallen in love with it is because you can save all your favorite recipes to a “recipe box” and to go back to later and you can also include or exclude specific ingredients or things that your allergic to! You can rank different tastes (salty, savory, sour, bitter, sweet, spicy) by how much you like or dislike them, all to suit your preferences. Seriously, best thing ever!
So, as of last week, I am officially a Yummly publisher! You can find my blog's recipe box here.
The site is just so simple to use – you Yum a recipe and it’ll automatically get added to your recipe box. Go ahead and try it with the recipe below!
If you're not on Yummly, you’re missing out, my friends! Yummly is really the best recipe site out there on the web you can ask for. So get in there, push those Yum buttons and start building your recipe box today!
And with my new recipe plugin, the Yum button is already included (score one for you!) so all you have to do before you click “print” or “pin” is click that little YUM button, and walla… added to your recipe box! Boom, done!
Now that we've done a little housekeeping… onto these gorgeous and amazing easy green chili turkey tacos. My family loves tacos and I think we have a taco night at least once a week. These have now made it into the top 5 best tacos I have made for my family (yes, my husband voted… haha) and they are surprisingly simple yet seriously delicious. Basically just throw everything into a pan to cook, throw into oven for a few minutes, top and done.
I love things that are simple. Enjoy!
