Woo! Here we are with the last post of “Red Velvet Week” in honor of Valentine’s Day that is this weekend!
I have to say that I am a sucker for red velvet. It’s just another of my favorite desserts and maybe #3 behind tiramisu and apple pie.
And anything red velvet is really a win in my book.
My husband just informed me the other day though that he does not like red velvet. How that is possible, I have no idea but that just means more red velvet for me!
And of course y’all know I love me some smoothies and protein shakes… so it felt only natural to try and whip up another of my favorite desserts into a protein shake form that I could enjoy when I wanted but without feeling guilty for stuffing some cupcakes (or similar) in my mouth instead.
I mean, I already have an apple pie protein shake and now there’s this red velvet cheesecake protein shake.
And I’ve recently made a tiramisu protein shake (omg, delish!) but it just hasn’t hit the bloggity blog yet. Wait, yes it has… here you go!
This red velvet protein shake is perfect for those days when you are seriously craving something sweet but don’t want to undo all the good eating you did that week, or all the fitness goals you crushed.
It has just that perfect hint of cocoa – just like a red velvet cake – and the right amount of sweetness.
Then if you’re a rebel like me you can add a little whipped cream on the top so that it, even more, doesn’t feel like a healthy protein shake.
This one is a serious winner and will be in my flavor rotation for a very long time!
