Banana Bread Waffles

Ah, banana bread… one of my all-time favorite treats. There is nothing better than a fresh out of the oven, warm slice of banana bread with a little melted butter on top.

Mmmm… it’s making my mouth water just thinking about it.

So, when I found a recipe for banana bread waffles on Pinterest, I just HAD to try them. I did alter the original recipe because it was for “overnight” yeasted waffles and I didn’t read it until the morning of.

Yield: 6 waffles


  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cup banana mashed


  1. Preheat waffle iron to medium according to manufacturer's instructions and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the butter, milk, vanilla, and eggs. Add the flour, brown sugar, salt, and spices mixing until combined. Stir in mashed bananas.

  3. Pour by 1/3 - 1/2 cupfuls into hot waffle iron and cook, according to manufacturer's instructions, until waffles are done. 

  4. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
