I am heading out on the boat this afternoon and I’m super excited.

We don’t actually have a boat but some friends of ours are part of this boat club here in town where you get to rent boats whenever you want.

They usually end up going out almost every week during the summer – cuz we only get a few short months of summer here in Michigan – and this week they asked us if we wanted to go.

In all actuality, they ask us to go all the time but my husband doesn’t really enjoy going on boats too much anymore after his sank a while back in the Gulf of Mexico and he was stranded at sea for 14 hours.

Yes, that happened.

Anyway, since that little accident (that I am very grateful he lived through) he doesn’t really like going out on the water like he used to.

And rightfully so.

However, I love the water and boating and jet skiing and so I’ve been slowly been trying to convince him to get back out on the boat with me and our friends.

Today he said yes and so we’re heading out to have some fun in the sun and some good old fashioned BBQ for dinner when we get back home.

So of course I had to whip up a sweet and delicious BBQ sauce with French’s Ketchup that we could use this evening on our beef ribs.

The hubby and I have been making our own BBQ sauce for as long as I can remember and this bourbon stout BBQ sauce is definitely one of our favorites.

I always use French’s Ketchup as the base because it has such a great flavor fro the US farm-grown tomatoes.

Plus, it’s free of high-fructose corn syrup, preservatives, and artificial flavors & colors.

Homemade BBQ sauce is so simple to make and such a great way to experiment with creating your favorite sweet, savory, spicy, or vinegar based dressing flavors.

So I’m heading out to the boat, the beach, and then the BBQ for a great day of fun in the sun with the fam!

Hope you have an amazing Tuesday also!
