It’s been about 4 years since I posted about all my favorite hair products so I figured it was time for an update!
Lately, I’ve been really into finding and trying new products and I’m loving it. So I’m sure there will be another update with more products soon!
And honestly, I don’t really use any of the products anymore from the first post I did. Unfortunately some of them just didn’t do well with my hair long-term and I had to find new stuff.
The only things that are the same are the hair dryer and the straightener that I use. And I basically only use them still because they’re not broken, they still work well, and I can’t justify spending money on new hair tools that still work. So there’s that. Haha!
Paul Mitchell Express Ion Smooth+ Unclipped
I’ve actually been looking for a curling wand/iron for my hair for a while because no matter which one I’ve tried, my curls always fall flat after about 30 minutes. No matter how much hairspray I put in.
My sister has this wand and I decided to give it a try when we were on vacation together. OMG it’s the best wand/iron that I have ever tried and my curls stayed all day! Even without putting a ton of product in my hair. Score!
As soon as we got home from vacation I ordered myself one and never looked back. I love it so much. It did take a little trial and error to figure out how to use it without burning my fingers off but now I have it down and can curl my entire head in about 3 minutes.
Living Proof Restore Heat Protectant
I honestly haven’t used heat protectant in years and I figured it was probably time to start again. I always used to think that it took too much time. Either that or the one I was using made my hair feel super greasy.
However, now I think I finally found my favorite heat protectant ever. This one is so lightweight but still provides amazing protection.
Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield
Since I’m moving to a (slightly) more humid climate in a just about a month, I would be a good idea to try a humidity shield.
I’ve been using this one for a few months now and I love how lightweight it is but still keeps my hair from getting frizzy when it’s hot outside. Granted there isn’t a ton of humidity in Michigan when it is warm outside…. Nothing like Florida humidity… but it works nonetheless.
And there is still definitely not as much humidity in Texas as Florida but I’m sure I’ll need a little something for during the day.
Nexxus Comb Thru Finishing Mist
This was another find from my sister. I actually ran out of the travel hairspray I brought with me on vacation and so I used hers. I loved how it held my hair but didn’t make it feel stiff or sticky.
Bought a big bottle as soon as I got home. Haha. Love this stuff.
Redken NBD Medium
Honestly, I don’t dry my hair after everytime I wash it. My hair is thin but semi-curly and frizzy if I don’t do anything to it.
I’ve been trying to find things to tame the frizz without weighing it down without styling for years. I have yet to find my holy grail but this is my newest find and I like it so far.
