I think I may have come across the holy grail of healthy treats… but you won’t think that you are eating healthy at all because it tastes just like chocolate ice cream.
Seriously.
When I made this recipe I was looking for a new way to have my Shakeology without always blending it into a shake.
I also wanted to be able to eat real ice cream without feeling guilty all the time that I am or will be sabotaging all my hard work that I put into my workouts.
Of course, there are probably a ton of recipes out there for healthy ice cream but none of them seemed just right. Until I stumbled across the 1-ingredient banana ice cream.
Uh, how do you make ice cream with just bananas?
Simple, just take some ripe bananas and chop them up and stick them in the freezer for a few hours. After they are good and frozen, just stick them into a food processor and blend away.
What you are left with is a smooth and creamy “ice cream” that is healthy and makes you feel like you are cheating but you aren’t!
Score! Who doesn’t love that?
Chocolate Protein Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 2 medium bananas
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk
- 1/8 cup stevia
Instructions
- Cut bananas into chunks and freeze for about 2-3 hours.
- After bananas are frozen, add bananas, protein powder, and milk to food processor or blender and blend until creamy.
- Scoop mixture into bowl and eat immediately or freeze for additional hour or two until ready to eat.
