It’s been about a month since I worked out last. It’s terrible but a vicious cycle that I always find myself falling into.
I don’t know why… but I’ll workout for a few months at a time and then all of a sudden it’s been like 2-3 weeks since I last worked out.
I don’t necessarily want to say that I get lazy, though that could very well be the case, but I do know that I blame it on work and blogging and being tired.
All the normal excuses that go through someone’s head when trying to get back on track or start a new program or on a regular schedule.
And there’s just something about winter and the hustle and bustle of the holidays that seem to make things worse.
Truth is, I am not any busier than anyone else and, in all actuality, I probably have a lot more free time than an average person. Yes, I have two kids and they take a lot of time but I still get time to myself.
Unfortunately I haven’t been spending that time very wisely… scrolling Facebook for the billionth time, checking on the blog to make sure the internet hasn’t blown up, checking Twitter, StumbleUpon, checking on my challengers and coaches, etc.
I’ve said in the past that, while my to-do list is long, it doesn’t take me more than 3-4 hours to get it all done on any given day. So then what the hell am I doing for the other 12 hours that I am awake? Seriously where does the time go?
Anyway, today I am taking back control of my schedule and scheduling time for my workouts. I have used this method in the past and it worked well but somehow the workout portion of my to-do list was deleted.
So as soon as I push publish on this post I am heading to workout. I ordered the brand new Hammer & Chisel workout from Team Beachbody a couple days ago and will be starting that this morning.
I’m also going to be making this delicious spiced apple cider protein shake as my post-workout snack… and I’m not letting myself have it until I finish the workout.
This smoothie was super delicious when I made it last and I cannot wait to make it again. Apple cider season is in full swing in my grocery store so why not use it in a yummy protein shake?
This should be motivation enough for today to get my workout done.
