If you can’t tell by now, I love a good cocktail. I feel like I’m always on the lookout for either a great new beer or a great new cocktail.

While this washington appletini cocktail is not anything new, it has always been a favorite of mine. I think that most people know of the washington apple as a shot but it is actually a drink normally served in a highball glass or martini glass. Just like this one.

Though it’s not normally served with dry ice.

I had this idea recently that I wanted to make something “halloweeny” this year.

I’m not much for halloween themed recipes and treats so I went with the next best thing… dry ice!

It makes for a sweet effect, don’t you think?

I’ve always wanted to try and make something with dry ice. I just have never gotten around to it or didn’t know where to even find dry ice.

Luckily for me, this idea popped into my head when I saw that my local Meijer sold dry ice right at the front of the store. Score!

No having to go find a specialty ice place just to get some dry ice.

If you want to get some dry ice for this recipe to serve at a party or with friends, you do need to make sure to be super careful with it.

Dry ice will burn you if touched with bare hands so make sure to always use gloves and tongs.

Also, don’t drink the dry ice. Make sure that it is completely dissolved before drinking the cocktail.

Anyway, I did change up the original washington apple recipe just a tad as it usually calls for cranberry juice, but I added cran apple juice for a little more apple flavor but still having that cranberry tang.

It is delicious and if you serve this at your halloween party, your guests will sure be impressed!
