Chai Spiced Bread

Chai Spiced Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chai tea or water
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F and grease loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, tea and milk until well combined. 

  3. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves until just combined. Spread evenly into bottom of prepared pan.

  4. Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Frosting

  1. In a small bowl, stir together frosting ingredients until melted and combined. Pour over cooled bread. 

  2. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
