Sweet apples lend their flavor to this invigorating boozy beverage with a touch of maple syrup to warm the bourbon flavor.
It’s been another tough couple of months for me with a whole mess of new family things going on which led to me not posting a recipe last month.
But I’m back this month with the gorgeous Maple Bourbon Apple Sipper for you today and it is so good. Momma was in need of another cocktail with everything that is happening and going on so I whipped up this beauty for you all (and me).
I’ve been starting to get into bourbon more lately and thought it would make a great base for a new cocktail. Plus, with apple season that is happening right now why not put the two together?
Our friends brought over some bourbon a few months back when we had a little housewarming party. Well, I wouldn’t really call it a housewarming party more like just a little get-together with friends at the new house.
Anyway, the bourbon they brought was deliciously dark and smooth. I found it in the cabinet a few days ago when I was rummaging around for something to put together and thought it would pair perfectly with the apple cider that we had in the fridge.
My kids love apple cider when it’s in season so we always have that and fresh apples in the fridge. Then add a little maple syrup for sweetness, a splash of lemon for tang and balance, and you’ve got yourself a delicious cocktail that goes down like juice.
You can also add a little more bourbon to your liking if you wish… this batch makes 4 servings with 1.5 oz of bourbon in each. You can also add a little floater of .5 oz on the top for a light layering effect.
Add a sprig of fresh thyme for garnish, if you wish, and boom… delicious fall inspired Maple Bourbon Apple Sipper for your next gathering. Or for just when you’re feeling in the mood to make a sweet cocktail.
